Short Brief:
Peter is a resilient and pro-active HSE professional with 20 years experience. He has
diverse expertise gained within the oil & gas industry and other critical environments
where disciplined approaches to good HSE principles deliver safe and sustainable outcomes.
Before working in the oil & gas industry Peter spent 15 years developing and facilitating safety training workshops in conjunction with the Northern Territory Government and the Northern Land Council. His hands on approach to safety training by saw him working closely with traditional owners and develop excellent communication abilities and a high level of
inter-cultural awareness.
Joining Nabors Drilling in 2005 Peter became a member of the Safety Leadership Team. Reporting to the Rig Manager he held full responsibility for all aspects of HSE/STC requirements relating to a staff of 80 offshore employees including external service and third-party companies.
Within Peter's role as HSE Advisor on Rig 175 he ensured that rig management systems conformed to the client's compliance standards and monitored the effective implementation of appropriate health, safety and environmental procedures. Peter was an integral part of the team that achieved 263 days 'Hurt Free' on board Rig 175 while working with ExxonMobil in The Bass Strait.
Peter continues to work closely with under privileged indigenous children and regularly works with school camps helping expose indigenous children to traditional cultural experiences by guiding them on remote area bushwalks in the Kimberley, Kakadu and Arnhem Land.
Peter has a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment, Certificate IV in OH&S and is completing a Diploma in OH&S. Peter also holds the qualification as the offshore Primary First Aid Officer.
