Short Brief:
Greg has 6 years of extensive and intensive drill floor experience working on rigs ranging from Kelly drive land rigs to the most modern 6th generation ultra deep water dynamically positioned semi submersibles.
Greg has always had a passion for people. Working away from his wife and family for the past 6 years has opened his eyes to the fact that the most important job we have while out at work is to ensure we all return safely to the ones we love. This belief has motivated Greg to be instrumental in establishing safe work practices. Working at the coalface Greg has developed an excellent understanding of the operational requirements and processes involved in oil and gas exploration and drilling.
Greg’s fresh approach to safety is aimed at increasing onboard participation in rig based safety initiatives. His ability to relate to safety issues experienced by crew’s aids him in communicating solutions and motivating personnel to make proactive changes to their workplace. He believes that a safety conscious crew will be engaged, maximizing operational efficiencies and meeting desired objectives.

Greg has a passion for health and fitness and is often compared to a kelpie by his wife. He can never sit still when a ball is being hit, kicked or thrown and is a passionate Springbok rugby fan.
Greg has a Degree in Commerce, (Marketing and Business Management), an Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management and an Associate Diploma in Architectural Drafting. He has also completed units in Petroleum Engineering through the University of New South Wales.
For his position onboard exploration drilling rigs Greg has completed courses at the Maersk Training Centre in Denmark in Drilling Technology, Drilling Calculations and Subsea Well Control Equipment. He holds tickets in First Response Fire Fighting, Dogging Cranes, Basic Rigging, Forklift Operations, Elevated Work Platform Operations, Kelvin Topset Incident Investigation, NOPSA approved HSR Training and Ultra deep Water Well Control.
