Short Brief:
Stewart is a registered psychologist and has a doctorate in organisational psychology as well as a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Psychology, and a Master of Arts (Hons) in psychology. He remains a respected opinion leader in Change Management & Safe Workplace practice.
He has been a psychotherapist, academic, manager and organisational advisor working in the area of personal and organisational change for over 20 years. Stewart has published over 120 scientific papers about learning and behaviour change as well as supervising a number of research programs. He continues to teach masters and doctoral level management programs in a number of universities in Australia and the USA.
In his consulting role Stewart has provided services for public and private sector organisations involving: coaching managers and executives; conducted a variety of training programs around leadership development, coaching skills, organisational development and influencing people; the facilitation of organisational change.
Stewart has a particular interest in safe work practice and creating cultures that support this endeavour. Stewart has worked with ExxonMobil (Drilling) in the development of behavioural change initiatives for the Australian Drill Team and the Esso Angola Drill Team. In this time he has spent considerable time offshore working with drill crews and rig management teams. As a consequence of this work Stewart has significant experience in understanding the offshore environment and the workplace requirements to support these operations.
Stewart is the author of 'When culture gets in the way of safety' and led the research and design of observational data that led to the design of the ‘BTB Safety Tool’ assisting in the creation of safe work practice on board offshore drilling rigs.
Stewart remains an author, commentator and respected public speaker on organisational change and travels extensively as a keynote speaker and commentator.
